Cardiff is the capital of Whales and Europe’s youngest capital, which is situated in South Wales, and is easy to reach wherever you are coming from. Cardiff airport is one of the UK's fastest growing airports and is situated approximately 15km South West of Cardiff city centre. It has served over 2 million passengers last year in 2006. Scheduled flights to Cardiff are offered by Aer Arann , BMI Baby, Eastern Airways, Flybe, Highland Airways, KLM and Thomson Fly.

Visitors can travel on to the city centre by taxi, train, car or bus for the airport.

Taxi - The official taxi at the airport is Checker Cars. These taxis are located just outside the arrival hall and can be pre-booked by calling this number +44 (0)1446 711747. The taxi journey will take approximately 25 minutes and there is a fixed cost of £24 (for up to 4 people sharing the taxi).

Train - Cardiff International Airport (Rhoose) and Cardiff Central Station are connected by a rail link, there is a free shuttle bus operating to get to the train station, which is situated approximately 1 mile away from the airport. Bus - Cardiff Bus operates the X91 Airport Express bus service between Cardiff International Airport and Cardiff Central Station. The service runs every hour Monday to Saturday (daytime) and every two hours on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday (daytime). A single ticket costs £3.70 for an adult, however if you purchase a £4.50 day-to-go ticket you will have unlimited travel (on the day of purchase) on all Cardiff Bus services, which would seem far better value!
